According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), surgeon is the 2011 highest paying job in this country with $225,390 per year, followed by other jobs including anesthesiologist, oral surgeon, obstetrician, orthodontist and internist. The bureau collected masses of data on 800 different jobs to make the list.
Looking at the list, people can easily recognize positions, which require a medical degree, are paid the most while chief executives ranks only the ninth position with $173,350 per year and the last is lawyers, who earn $129,440.
The BLS also suggests that the jobs paid the most, of course, are the hardest to reach and ten largest occupations make up for more than 20% of the nation’s 127 million jobs.
Finding a job as a waiter or fast-food worker, on the contrary, is much easier because this field accounts for nearly 5 million positions. However, the job is among the US’s worst paid positions with less than $10 an hour.
